We've made a lot of good progress in the last 2 weeks. Trail segment #11 was seeded on Friday June 12. The rain started to come down as people were headed home and we've been getting occasional rain ever since. This trail is now temporarily closed for a few weeks while the grass comes in. We'll open it as soon as possible when it can withstand a reasonable amount of foot traffic.
The prairie grass wind break in the 55th street field was seeded on Monday, June 15 with gentle showers falling as we finished up.
Attention then turned to Trail segment #33 that runs parallel to, and north of the creek behind the caretaker's house. This trail has a rocky section in the middle. Dirt was hauled from either end of the trail to cover this area and rough grading is now finished.
We had a great work night tonight with 9 people coming out to do the finish work on this trail section. The rain bypassed us and the temperature (fortunately) dropped from it's high of 92. Thanks to Eric Counselman, Henry Hocraffer, Riley Macon, Don Pankowski, Jeff Robertson, Greg Rowley, Bruce Walk, Andy Wood, Laura Zumbrunnen. The last steps are raking and seeding and we hope to accomplish those in the next week.
We've updated the photo gallery with a few more pictures.
