The Mn. Randonneurs are holding a fleche on May 15th – 16th. The finish destination is 603 E. 10th Street (also known as Howard Street) Winona, Mn. 55987. (This is my house)
We are asking that all teams have 7:00 am. On Saturday, May 15th as the Start time. This is so that everyone will finish at roughly the same time.
At the finish, we will be serving breakfast, which will consist of Pancakes, egg bakes, Fruit, Coffee, Bagels, Pop, Juice, and Milk….and of course…wine…for those who would like to tip a toast to the end of a fun social ride.
There will be showers available, and airbeds, couch, and regular beds for anyone wanting to catch a few z’s before driving back home. I encourage everyone who has far to go to take me up on the accommodations so everyone is well rested before getting behind the wheel.
1) First, I encourage everyone to read the “Team Randonnees” notes, and also the “Rules for the Fleches – USA”
2) Get a team together, and Pick a Team Captain.
3) Have The team Captain fill out the Registration form. Release form must be submitted for and signed by each individual on the team. These forms can either be sent to me by mail, or scan the signed form and send it to me as a PDF via e-mail.
4) Routes can also be sent to me in either way.
5) After routes are approved and Registration forms are received, the team captain can appoint someone on the team to make up the Fleche Control Card. Please use card stock of any color. (Teams make up their own Cards)
6) Please click on tabs to down load the ACP-Fleche-Card Master, The Fleche Registration and Release form, the Rules for the Fleches – USA, and the Team Randonnees notes.
7) A point worth mentioning about the 22 HR control…………It doesn’t have to be a 24/7 place because many open at 5:00. (Kellogg Kwik Trip opens at 5:00). As you can see, this works well with the 7:00 am. Start time. J
Have fun with the routes…….Happy cycling!

CONGRATULATIONS to Mark Olsen for completing three 1200k's in 2008. Most riders would consider qualifying, for and riding one per year to be an extremely full and active year. Mark completed the CASSCADE 1200 out of Seatle, the ROCKY MOUNTAIN 1200 out of British Columbia, and THE LAST CHANCE 1200 out of Colorado. He is one of the few riders to receive a special award from BC RANDONNEURS for completing at least one 1200k in both Canada and the USA in the same year. Mark has set a new standard for us all in Randonneuring. Also to note, his brother Bill Olsen completed four 1200k's in 2008 and rode with Mark for three of them.
We also had three other RASC members who ride our brevets ride 1200k's this year. Rob Welsh , Michael Fox, and Jeff Hofstede Rob did the ROCKY MOUNTAIN 1200 out of British Columbia. Michael and Jeff rode the CASSCADE 1200.
CONGRATULATIONS to all!
Click on stories below to read about their rides and what they thought about each. Very interesting reading.
