Quarry Hill to Pinewood School

Route #1: Quarry Hills - Pinewood - Quarry Hills (11.75 ml)

Trailhead (North end): Car-park at end of Parkwood Hills (off CR 2 - Viola Road).
Trailhead (Mid-point): Slattery park (junction of Eastwood road and Marion Road - CR 36)
Trailhead (South end): Pinewood Elementary School on Pinewood Road, SE.
Trail conditions : Excellent

The bike trail climbs and falls down to the main Quarry Hill trail. Turn right at the main trail and continue for about 0.5 mile. Turn left on the trail to head south. This trail goes to Silver Lake and crosses 3 roads and 1 railroad track in the process. At Silver Lake turn left and cross over the railroad tracks to head South. Part of the trail is concrete so you will have to free skate this small section (pole tips will slip on concrete). Continue south past Mayo Park to Slattery Park. This section is very wide and ideal for V2 technique. At Slattery Park the trail narrows with lots of twists and turns. Near Pinewood, the trail turns right over a small wooden bridge and ends 0.5 ml beyond at the Pinewood Elementary school car park. Total distance = 11.75 ml. Trail is flat except for a series of hills in Quarry Hills and some small climbs along the trail near Silver Lake.

Would you bike on roads with rumble strips (e.g. CR 8)?
