Trail Seeding is Done and the Grass is Sprouting! 9/28/2008
This past Friday (9/28), the last of the trail seeding was finished. With a little luck, we'll get some rain along with cooler temperatures over the next month that should get all of the grass a good start prior to the first snowfall.
Heading east on the 55th st. field trail. The grass is just starting to come up here.
This hill is found coming out of the woods by the volley ball court and turning left.
The berm along the tree line in the 55th st. field heading west toward the playground. This area didn't need reseeding but was cleared of brush and dead elm trees.
This is the steep hill heading south from the playground on the west side of the park.

This new trail heads into the woods and follows the old trail heading to West River Parkway.
This area was seeded first and the shady conditions have been excellent for grass germination.

We now head down through the field to the grove of trees in the south center section of the park.

A temporary trail for 2008 will be mowed heading up this hill in the south prairie area.
